Thanks for your interest in the EMIT series. It is hard to believe that fourteen years and over 170 concerts have passed since our first concert at the Salvador Dali Museum.

Last season's artists included pianist Matthew Shipp, the Rudresh Mahanthappa Quartet, the Sam Rivers Quartet and O Som Do Jazz.  We sponsored the Brasil Arts Fest and educational workshops with the Kevin Wilder Trio, Kym Purling & Joanna Rose and Butch Thomas.  In November the Miami-based Alfredo Triff Trio performed at the Salvador Dali Museum in a co-sponsored concert with EMIT.  During the spring and summer, we hosted the Helios Jazz Orchestra and backed singer Kevin Mahogany on the first WMNF Jazz Jam festival.  

I would like to thanks our many volunteers and supporters over the years. Special thanks go out to our board members Rick Olson, Jim Stewart and Andrea Moraes Manson for their planning and concert support. Peter Tush has been our longtime friend at the Salvador Dali Museum. Our media friends include Ray Villadonga, Eric Snider, Curtis Ross, Bob Pomeroy and others.

Despite the economic issues and the loss of some concert venues, the EMIT series is presenting an adventurous season of music during 2010.   I hope to see you this season at our concerts and workshops.
